Have you ever considered what it would look like to see a critical success fireball in a room full of guards when you gave up sneaking into the castle? Would that mean increased damage or a larger blast radius, or what about….both? Oh ho, the possibilities! What about a critical charm person on the big bad evil person, as they are about to take down your cleric who is attempting to revive the fighter that is near death? Yes, there is always that 5% chance of rolling a natural 1 (oh look your head and those of your party are on fire! Ouch-sorry) but that’s part of a grand Adventure and creating Epic stories!
Using CRIT Effect dice and cards will offer you an alternative feature to enhance the spell casting aspect of D&D and other d20 roll playing games. The custom d20 die has 10 blank sides, the natural 20, the natural 1, and the 8 schools of magic represented by letters: Illusion (i), Enchantment (En), Conjuration (C), Abjuration (A), Necromancy (N), Evocation (E), Divination (D), and Transmutation (T). Using this die and the deck of cards will provide interesting results when a spell either critically succeeds or fails, spicing up your game!
Then their is the Dark Side related to FRIGHT EFFECT!! Now you can really attune to that Wand of Fear with options for what people see and optional fear effects. Includes a custom d8 with 8 fear related categories with a deck of cards. The other core part of this deck is for character creation. Everyone has some form of phobia (Snakes and spiders, heights, etc.) so why not give one (or more) to your group of players and allow them to work it into their backstory.
Use these two sets as designed by the creator or add in your own layers. Find your own uses for the die alone! This is meant to be a fun guide to enhance the game and as always, the DM has the final say!
Includes three CRIT EFFECT custom d20s – Green Murk, Red Fireball and Purple Mist and a grey FRIGHT EFFECT custom d8.
