The Arduin Grimoire Volume 1 (2nd printing), softback supplement for Original D&D, by David Hargrave
1977 second printing of David Hargrave’s ‘The Arduin Grimoire Volume 1’.
Most people thought of The Arduin Grimoire as a supplement for Original D&D and used it as such – it’s entirely compatible and features new rules, new character classes etc, but will make no sense at all if you don’t also have the OD&D rules. Hargrave himself thought of it as a different game and tried to get Chaosium to publish it. Greg Stafford of Chaosium didn’t feel that the ‘game’ could stand on its own, and so Chaosium went and produced RuneQuest instead.
This second printing features art by Erol Otus throughout.
This copy is in FAIR condition. The cover has detached from the staples. Also, the inside front cover is stamped “NOT FOR SALE IN U.S.A.” (After 45 years, I reckon we can ignore that…)
